If I was giving a grade on creativity, both of my boys would have earned extra points today.
Noah
"Noah, no, no!" I had to continually interrupt the book that I was reading Caedmon and discipline Noah as, stubbornly, he would not stop turning Grandpa's emergency weather radio on. Finally he walked away and I went back to reading, hoping that he had gotten the point. He returned moments later with a small plastic pirate, and I was grateful that he had found a toy to distract him. However, he walked right up to the radio and used the pirate's sword to turn it on. At my rebuke he responded, "Uh, uh, uh!" and pointed to the naughty pirate who had dared to defy the rules. He and the pirate both got to go sit in time out.
Caedmon
Caedmon has been resistant to hand washing lately, so we did some research online on the importance of hand washing. I printed out a coloring page for him to color and sign a pledge to always wash his hands. I then went to gather the laundry from the line. When I came back in he was putting something away in the pantry and had hung up the finished picture in the bathroom (where most of his hand washing defiance occurs). Curious, it appeared to be sticking nicely to the wall, but I didn't think that he knew where the tape was. "Caedmon, how did you get that picture to stick to the wall?"
"Well, I knew that honey was sticky so I used honey."

Hi Tabitha! Thanks for stopping by and saying hello. I've often wish everyone in the family had a blog! It's such a great way to stay in touch. I started mine so that family could see the kids grow up and what we did on any particular day. It's sooooo hard to not be near my Mom, Dad and Sister plus cousins and the rest of the family. I take some comfort that they can see the kids this way. I usually try to go home for 2-3 weeks once or twice a year and that has helped but it's just not the same as it would be if we all lived near each other.
I look forward to reading more of you and the boys. They are so stinkin' cute! Tell Marshall Mark and I both said hello.
We'll be back in S. next month for Mark's cousin Danna's wedding.
