Put it Back!

God must realize that I need all the help that I can get, because it appears that he has sent me another organized child. Noah likes for things to be put back in their place. His short little legs often trip over his pant legs, despite my haphazard attempts to keep them rolled. He is usually quite disturbed when he is left pantless and wants me to put them back on. One of his most often used words is "back". "Back, back, back," he emphasizes, gesturing his milk toward the fridge or his empty juice box toward the trash. He can even be persuaded to give up his much loved binkie and snugly if we tell him to put them back. He will walk into his bedroom and throw them in the crib. The other day, he was pestering Papa at the computer, asking Papa about all of the new things on Papa's desk. Papa picked up an oil filter and explained, "This is a filter, I should probably throw it away because it doesn't fit anything that still runs." He then set the filter back on the desk. Noah (well trained by his mommy to throw away things) was very disturbed by this and started exclaiming, "Back, back, back!" Bob looked up confused until I told him that Noah wanted him to throw it away because he said it was trash. Sure enough, Noah was satisfied as soon as Bob threw the filter in the trash.
