Noah 's receptive language is amazing. You can say, "Go show that to Daddy" and he will find Daddy (check the office, the bathroom, and then the bedroom) and show him. His expressive language, however, has reverted to mostly grunts and points and then louder grunts and then screams if we don't comply in a timely fashion (i.e, immediately). To help him to communicate, we have been using sign language again. He picked up "more" right away, which was a sign that he used many months ago. You might think that this makes things easier, but usually we don't know what he wants more of! I will be walking down the hall with him and he starts signing "more". More what? Walking down the hall is so exciting that he wants to do it again? We also taught him "please". We thought that would be nicer than a loud scream. We were in the living room dancing when I noticed he started doing the air guitar. I thought he was so clever because I don't remember teaching him that, until I realized that he was signing "please." I am not sure what he wanted, but I am glad that he was polite about it. I've learned my lesson, forget about manners in a fourteenth month old, next I am teaching really useful signs like hungry and thirsty and please let me have that choking hazard.
This video has nothing to do with this blog, but it shows how good he's getting at walking.
