Caedmon has recently become very interested in math. Many times we will escape the tedium of dishes by asking each other math problems. Although he is getting pretty adept at figuring out simple problems using mini m&m's, he still doesn't recognize some of the bigger numbers. We had this conversation a few days ago.
C: What number is eight zero?
M: That's 80. (writing it down) And this is 70 and 60.
C: No, Mom, that can't be 80. (with a teasing grin). Where's the D?
M: What are you talking about?
C: This is eighty (writing down 8D) and this is 71 (7D1)
He then proceeded to write down his "new math" numbers on paper and deliver them to his Nana and Daddy so that they would know how to write the numbers. I am still not sure whether he actually thought that the numbers should have a "d" in them or if he was trying to be funny.
